Was recently presented with a problem for which I hope someone on this
list can offer a solution. I was given a simple PowerPoint presentation
that a minister friend of mine uses in a Bible Study that he presents.
The idea was to expand the presentation to outline the various talking
points he uses on each scripture (he normally just puts up the scripture
and talks about it), attach audio to each slide, then export the entire
presentation to Flash or some other multimedia format suitable for use
on a web site. He has a series of lessons that we hope to upload if I
can solve this problem. I got 1.9.118 since I was hearing how much
better it than 1.1.4 (have been a user since 1.0.1). Got a
"proof-of-concept" presentation put together, complete with audio, but
when I did the export to Flash (as many of you probably already know)
the audio and transitions didn't survive.
Here's the question. Do any of you know of a decent converter from
Impress or PowerPoint to Flash, AVI, or some other web-friendly
multimedia format that is available: (1)Win98-compatible, (2)open-source
or freeware? Is 2.0 final expected to have Flash improvements over
118? I can wait a little if that is the case.
Any advice or constructive suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks-
David Miller
