Of course that reason technically can be solve if you migrate your file

Theother day i downloaded the 1.15 version which was an upgrade for my
piror version 1.1. this looks like it will be a hit. I had some
compatibility issues ie MS works documents which i hope will be
rectified. I am not sure if i want to download the 2.0 beta version 9
since i realy don't understand what that will do for me since i'mnot
that cofortable with the 1.15 yet. I dont use it that often ( as of
right now) but i must say that i have been satisfied with the use of
this program and it's striking my interest to persue the tutorials
( especially waiting for the one for the writer. I do a fair sahre of
typing text documents. Also how do i bring sound into the text
document so i can e mail them to recipients. thanks for any assistance,
keep up the great work. I will contribute some more $ in the future
for this great endevour.

Robert Derman replies: It is unlilely that there will ever be a
capability in OOo to open or use MS Works documents, even Microsoft's
own Office software can't use most Works files. Works is reguarded as
software not adaquate for any serious professional use, it seems even
by Microsoft itself.
As far as downloading OOo 2.0 is concerned, not being satisfied with
version 1x is probably the best reason TO download 2.0, because it is
more compatable with Microsoft Office files, and its user interface is
much more comfortable for those used to MS Office. In other words, if
you like MS Office, and didn't like OOo 1x very well, chances are you
will be much happier with OOo 2.0.
