Hello Eduardo,

The OpenDocument Fellowship has a lot of information that might help you make a case for OpenDocument in your school:

http://opendocumentfellowship.org/

Two days ago we started a petition for Microsoft to support OpenDocument. It is an attempt to demonstrate that there /is/ demand for the OpenDocument format. In only 2 days, without much advertising, it's gathered over 1,000 signatures. Including several large entities:

If you want to discuss ideas, and how to present OpenDocument to your school, I strongly suggest you join the OpenDocument "advocates" list.

To subscribe, send an email to:

Then you can post emails to:

In this list you will find people who are knowledgable, and are eager to help you make a strong case for your school to support the OpenDocument format.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers,
Daniel Carrera.

Hello all,
My name is Eduardo Martinez and I am a student at Humboldt State University,
located in Arcata California.
II want to start to work on a proposition in my school to promote the use of
OO on a campus wide level. Various students besides myself are really tired
of MS Office being imposed on the student community. I feel the need to
implement the use of OpenDocument compatible software on a campus wide level
for various reasons. Primarily the inconsistancy presented when trying to
access class documents. I was wondering if anybody in the community could
point me in the right direction for resources to create this proposition.
thank you very much.
