Which is the point and probably on the list of things to do.

To further that goal, US sw patents, the DMCA/EUCD and the EEA all provide enough licensing restrictions to inhibit competitors from using the formats, especially future versions which are encumbered with "now illegal to talk about circumventing" DRM. Furthermore, the licensing for production use of the XML schema for MS formats prohibits directly or indirectly its use in open source products. Please, if I am wrong, then show me the license.
