Hello!
Congratulations to all who worked on OOo 2.0! It's fabulous!
If anyone is looking for a great manual, Free Software For
Dummies, includes about 200 pages on OpenOffice.org 2.0. It's
newly published and received excellent reviews in the Chicago
Tribune, LA Times and elsewhere. It has several chapters on all
the major programs: Writer, Calc, Base, Draw, and Impress, plus
it includes other free software as well, such as The GIMP,
Firefox, and more. And it only costs $14.95 on Amazon. Please
spread the word!
Congratulations again on your success!

Mary,
THIS IS SPAM.
No, it is not spam. Go ahead, Mary and write next time a bit longer
book than 200 pages. And post a gentle message here. :) And when you
have doubts, please send your message to someone from oo.o marketing
project for checking. They can help you to fix the text so, that GRS
does not feel abused.

First of all, thankyou Mary for your congratulations and letting us know
that "Free Software For Dummies" has been published. People new to
OpenOffice.org are often looking for other free software to complement
OpenOffice.org.
Ain, you are right. Mary's response is not spam or advertising. From our
mailing list guidelines: http://www.openoffice.org/ml_guidelines.html
"... simple notices that such and such a service is available either as
a single information notice or in response to a request for information"
are allowed.
We have a list of books on the Support page
(http://support.openoffice.org), and I have cc'd the group of people
that maintain that page so that your book may be included. Although
looking at the list of books, as this list gets longer, we may need to
organise it differently.
GRS, our backgrounds, education and culture are diverse and being able
to choose a book from a selection that best suits our learning style is
very much a personal choice.
