I didn't see Japanese listed under the CLT list; I thought that was for
Hebrew and other languages that are read right to left.

I did check the box to enable support for Asian languages though.

I'm not sure, if this helps you, but did you select the support for CTL
languages? Judging from your description, it doesn't seem to me, that you
enabled this.

I hope, that this is the solution for your problem, if not, then write
