This is not a core "Office Suite" compontent.

I think you would have a hard job getting the developers interested in
such a fringe add-on. They are only interested in features that are
needed by a great number of people, as each added feature increases the
size of the download required.

You could pool resources with like minded people and make Lilypond (as
it is GPL) or another similar program ODF compatible or if your
requirement is great enough pay a developer for a third party OO.o
plugin.

Neither are programmers the core demographic that OO.o is targetted at.
Many programmers work on OO.o and i would think that if they had thought
this a good idea it would have materialized before now. The same
comments as above also apply.

These comments do not prevent you making a "Request For Enhancement"
(RFE) for your requirements. Though i doubt they would receive enough
votes for action to take place. Information here:

This has been suggested many times before.

Although an email program is not traditionally a core Office Suite
application, enough groundswell requests have occurred for this to
produce action. Sun and OO.o programmers have got involved in the
Thunderbird / Lightning progects and are working on tighter integration
between OpenOffice.org and Thunderbird.

There is a RFE for this already that you can vote for on the website.

If you wish, you could, as a programmer get involved at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and try to bring about the changes you seek from the
inside. Start here:

Hmm Sun Microsystems <=> Sunbird... accidental?
