First of all, let me say that I'm a fairly new user of OpenOffice, and am absolutely loving it so far. It's a fantastic product. Now, I don't know if there are plans in the works for this or not, but it seems to me that the only thing OOo is really missing is a program comparable to MS Office's OneNote software. I'm currently a Ph.D. student, and have become fairly addicted to OneNote - it is the only MS Office product I still use. Moreover, I'm looking to switch to a Mac for my next computer, and an OOo OneNote equivalent would make that transition immeasurably smoother. As it is, there is currently no equivalent software available for the Mac, nor is there any open-source equivalent available or, so far as I can find, in development. I'm sure that developing such a program would be quite an undertaking, but I'm sure there are a lot of users out there would very much appreciate having it, myself not least among them. -Shaylin
I don't know much about OneNote, but Zotero http://www.zotero.org may be of interest to you.
