There are several options;
1) Resend the document (assuming you've not deleted it), but this time in
M$ format.
2) Get the recipient to install the ODT extension for M$ Office available
from the Sun web site.
3) Get the recipient to install OOo.
To do the first mentioned, open the document and select "Save As..." from
the File menu, and alter the "File Type" to a suitable M$ type, and make
sure the "Automatic file name extension" box is checked, then save the
file. It won't overwrite the original.
