There is a third option that you may not have considered. A local
Internet Cafe will download the latest version for you for a small fee
comparable to the CD options if you supply them with either the disk to
burn it onto or a flash stick (they will probably sell you either).

This Internet Cafe relationship is one which i encourage as
OpenOffice.org release new versions on a regular (less than a year
usually) basis.
