I have some recommendations for the next version of Open Office:
1. The date format in Calc needs to include a "dd-MMM-yy" setting.
American users also use this format.
2. The number format needs to include a provision for displaying negative
numbers in parentheses aligned by decimal. This is common practice in
financial data in the USA.
3. The user interface could be improved to exceed the capabilities, non
mimic, those of Office 2007. Having frequently used formatting buttons
readily visible is much quicker than having to sort through various
drop-down menus.
