There are Manuals at documentation.openoffice.org and yea there could be an easier way to get to them. Perhaps at install a prompt "Would you like to download 'Getting started with OOo'? " during the install process or something similar. Perhaps having the Getting Started manual as part of the download that extracts next to the installer.
