Its a strange question , particularly for this mailing list :)
Mac OS X, is the shiny touchy feely GUI that sits on top of a kernel
called Darwin. Darwin is a variant of the FreeBSD kernel.
The Linux kernel is very different to both Darwin and FreeBSD.
I have noticed a trend in Linux Distributions to make the GUI (whether
it is Gnome or Kde ) look as much like OSX as possible. You can get OSX
skins for both , which can make it near indistinguishable.
Apple are very good at making things pretty and usable, in fact that is
by far their biggest (and only?) selling point. So in that sense Linux
distributions may end up as close to Apple OSX as possible, however that
is nothing to do with the Linux kernel.
