Thats been my prediction in Akron since about 3 months into SYNHAK.
TinyCircuits' creation only amplified that.

Back in Ye Olden Days, if you were down on your luck and wanted a secure job,
you got into farming.

Today, people get into micro manufacturing. Anyone can build a 3D printer and
start churning out custom pieces and parts. Anyone can build a small CNC mill
and produce high quality circuit boards, then populate it with chips, and
produce a full product in short time.

Putting aside the moral quandries about the industrialization and
globalization of farming, GMOs, and other hot topics, I would argue that food
production is a largely solved problem compared to custom manufacturing. Its
that kind of stuff that will drive the revitalization of Akron as a major
manufacturing center in the area.

Next 40 years? Try next 40 months.
