Hi Folks. I'm happy to announce that the Nmap Project has again been
accepted into the Google Summer of Code program. This innovative and
extraordinarily generous program provides $5,000 stipends to college and
graduate students who spend the summer improving Nmap! They gain valuable
experience, get paid, strengthen their résumés, and write code for millions
of users.

Previous SoC students helped create the Nmap Scripting Engine, Zenmap GUI,
and the handy Ncat and Nping utilities. Several of them became top
developers! We're hoping for the same this year, but we need your help to
get the word out! If you know any college/grad students (or are one) who
might be interested, please point them to our project ideas page:

http://nmap.org/soc/

Feel free to post this to any lists or forums that talented students might
read. It also helps if you can retweet/share/like our social networking
posts:

http://facebook.com/nmap

Applications are accepted until next Friday (May 3) at 19:00 UTC (Noon
Pacific Time). The program itself runs June 17 through September 23.
Google has more information at http://www.google-melange.com/

Thanks,
Fyodor
