I still hope we can find a launcher one day that uses 100 KB :-) I must correct myself: it's not so bad at all: gmenu2x quits its most memory hungry process when launching apps, so it temporarily frees these 6 MB of memory. Quite a good compromise, IMO. Another part to optimize: top showed a line "/bin/sh /usr/bin/gmenu2x". I think we don't need the /bin/sh part.
