I know how difficult it is to create an easily navigatable wiki, on the other hand I know nothing about mediawiki's features for managing such kind of hierarchies. Put them into gmenu2x, let people complain if they crash, then maybe somebody is going to fix them :) Yeah that would be a little extreme.
