Nitrokey seems to be something YubiKey-like, plus storage. Things Anelok can do in addition to this: - wireless communication, e.g., for when USB is not a convenient option, - interface with legacy systems, e.g., for when there is no digital interface at all (or it's not shared with you), and - completely standalone operation (no need to rely one someone else's display or keyboard). Anelok could also do storage, but only slowly. (USB Full-Speed, 12 Mbps.) Speaking of hardware, NXP seem to be working on an interesting new member of the KLxx family, the KL8x, specificially designed for security applications: http://www.nxp.com/products/microcontrollers-and-processors/arm-processors/kinetis-cortex-m/l-series/kinetis-kl8x-72mhz-low-power-secure-microcontrollers-mcus:KL8x? Alas, there is not much information about this, especially not about its crypto engine, but things that sound interesting include: - True Random Number Generator, - finally a decent amount of RAM (96 kB). There is the K8x series (Cortex M4), but it seems that the crypto capabilities of the KL8x may be quite different. - Werner _______________________________________________ Qi Hardware Discussion List Mail to list (members only): [email protected] Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://lists.en.qi-hardware.com/mailman/listinfo/discussion
