Hi all,

on Wednesday the EU Commission published its new Open Source Strategy.
[1] We are pleased that the Commission recognises the benefits of Free
Software and the four freedoms to use, study, share and improve, but the
commission lacks concrete targets and indicators to implement the
strategy. Without these, we worry that the strategy will end up
accomplishing too little!

We released a press release on this [2] and media from Italy [3], France
[4] and Germany [5] reported so far.

It is noticeable that business associations, like Open Forum Europe [6]
and CNLL [7] in particular are positive while fsfe and April [8] are
highly critical.

What is your opinion on that? (Please feel also free to also discuss in
our community forum [9].

Best

Alex
