Im running ESX 2.5.2 I tried the suggestion of creating the pfsense
installation on VMware workstation 4.0(which works well) and importing
it to ESX. The ESX system forced a conversion of the disk to SCSI, which
then failed. I'm sure the 3.0 version will have this fixed.

Guess I'll use real hardware until then :-)

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

To get it to work, I had to build the PFSense machine under VMWare
Workstation then, import the IDE drive to ESX. I had no luck loading it
directly on ESX.

Subject: [pfSense-discussion] pfsense on VMware ESX Server

Hi All

I'm hoping this is the right forum. I am trying to install pfsense on an
ESX server. I'm using the LiveCD (downloaded today)I have made the mods
required for ESX...

http://wiki.pfsense.com/wikka.php?wakka=BootOptions

The system boots and runs. However when I try to install the system to
the virtual HD, I receive a response that no HDD can be found (using the
LSI controller).

Any ideas on how to get the controller recognized?

Best Regards

Dave Arthur
