As Andy states below - he's got some good reasons for becoming a committer. Here's my +1.

I've got some additional fixes etc building up, and the time to help out
on bug reports and expanding the test case coverage and documentation.
It would certainly speed things up to have commit as opposed to relying
on [PATCH].
