Might be be a class loader problem. Do you have anything on the system classpath, 
which utilizes the commons-beanutils.jar?  (like struts, etc.?)  I've seen this a lot 
on Weblogic, when system classloader and webapp classloader got confused.  dunno much 
about JRun though...

Try to compare the startup-scripts on the MacOSX and on the Linux box.
