[displaytag-user] pageSize in displayTag

Hello all,

Is the pageSize attribute for <display:table> mandatory? I wanted to set the pageSize for my whole application and therefore tried to set it in displaytag.properties file as

paging.banner.group_size=5

and also removed the "pageSize" attribute from the <display:table>. Now when I tried to display my search results I don't see the page navigation display. I would assume it should pick the value from the properties file if it is not mentioned in the tag. But it totally skips the search result navigation and moreover displays all 26 results on the same page.

But displays the page navigation part when I set the pageSize to 5 back on the <display:table>. Wondering if anyone ran into the same issue?
