Thanks for the reply.  This sounds similar to what I'm suggesting.  Did
you provide this modification back to the project?  Is it in any current
distributions or snapshots?  If not, I will go ahead and do the
implementation and submit it.  Any sample code you can provide of your
implementation is appreciated.

We solve this problem adding some code to TableTag.
you add new stylesheet class and in TableDecorator decide which style
class used.

Yup, that's it.  The criteria in question requires access to the
complete row data set, not just data in the current column. 

I was able to solve the problem via javascript (as per display tag
mailing list thread).  However, I'm not real happy with this as it
splits my presentation decoration between the TableDecorator and the JSP
page.  Ideally, I'd like presentation decoration in one spot, the
TableDecorator.
