Alexandre,

Thank you for the suggestion, but I was getting an error when I added the
taglib tag to my web.xml. Maybe because I am using JSP 1.2 which scans the
jar file for tlds.

I went back to the J2EE tutorial on Sun's website and found that you can
directly reference a taglib with the taglib directive in the JSP. So I
changed my taglib directive from

<%@ taglib uri=http://displaytag.sf.net prefix="display" %>

to

<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/tlds/displaytag-el-12.tld" prefix="display" %>

After this change I was able to use the EL in my table tag.

I'm happy it works, but not sure if this is the best solution.

Debbie

using EL version?

Hi,
you can copy the "displaytag-el-12.tld" into your
/WEB-INF/tlds, and in the web.xml write this tag

<!-- DISPLAY TAG -->
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>/taglibs/displaytag</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/displaytag-el-12.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>

and nothing more...

:D
