I never use <jsp:root>.  Just use <html>.  Just because the samples are done one way (and I haven’t seen that; is it in displaytag 1.1?) doesn’t mean it won’t work another way.  Just give it a try with a small test jsp page.

I have seen all displaytag samples use <jsp:root> tag, this becomes a problem when I want to include _javascript_ and styheet in jsp pages. I am wondering how can I do that? And why cannot we use normal <html> tag for displaytag? Thanks.
