It is used for verifying that the include server is working correctly. It is only for testing/debugging the include server.
The include server calculates an over-approximation of the true dependencies. If --verify is used, the include server will also invoke the C preprocessor to calculate the exact dependencies, and will compare the dependencies calculated by the include server to those calculated by the C preprocessor and report an error if any dependencies were missed.
