so to make it work in createrepo we'll need: 1. to read the desktop files out of the rpms themselves - that code exists 2. we'll need to have it work properly with --update so we're not constantly doing the same thing over and over again on each repo recreation. - does the code exist to read and break up the xml into per-desktop-file chunks? How we do it in the rest of createrepo is we read the existing xml and prune out those which have been deleted/modified and add those which have been added/changed.
