I can see your point there.. >From the other perspective, it is a fairly trivial task for the gui to track what packages it has installed - through it's own configuration file and generate a manifest from that. That would save a lot of time waiting for the back-end guys to do all the hard slog behind the scenes. That is just how I see it anyway...
