Hi!

Could be helpful if you carefully disassemble your box and make some
good resolution photos of the PCBs. A device still working after years
but consuming more and more power it a good sign for bad capacitors.
They loose electrolytics and get dry. While doing that they produce
internal low resistancies. It is not a short, but they convert to be
moren and more a resistor than a capacitor.

Sometimes you can see it easily as they malform like in this picture:

But while the two caps on the left and the one right are obviously dead,
the single one that looks clean is dead too. If the head is bulging you
should exchange it.

If you have no soldering skills and / or no chance to buy and replace
SMT parts, you should contact repairs soon. If you still continue to use
the device, the capacitors will continue to draw more and more power and
may damage other parts in the way of the current. So repairs may get
even more expensive or impossible.
