I've tried one of my other 38kHz diodes wired up to suit the different pinout order, but I'm pretty sure some other part of the IR receiving circuity is now dead unfortunately. That diode works fine with the miniDSP control board. Oh well - it's not the end of the world - I have plenty of other methods to control the SB2. In fact, this 'built-in' SB2 has replaced my Touch as my main source, so the Touch is now configured just to control the SB2, and it works really well.
