Hi folks -- Lately I've been trying to think about a few ways that software might help our user and dev community as both continue to grow. I have a few things I want to try out as "spikes" (http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?SpikeSolution) to see if they're really viable.
I'm being deliberately vague here to avoid bikeshedding any of these ideas. I want to get a proof of concept actually out and available before I start soliciting feedback. Basically, before I propose any new community features I want to have a working patch :) However, I'm not finding the time to work on this stuff myself. So, I'm looking for a few volunteers who can tackle a few projects on my behalf and with my oversight. It's all about getting a few sites (built with Django, natch) customized, up, and running. I can't offer compensation exactly, but if you've got tickets in the queue I can review and try to push 'em along by way of thanks. I'm looking for a couple-three backend folks comfortable and ideally one front-end designer type who can help what we make not look like butt. I'm thinking we're looking at about 40-60 hours of work total over the next 2-3 weeks, so something like 5-10 hrs/wk/person. If you've got the time for this over the next few weeks please drop me a line off-list. Thanks!
