#24014: Unify OGRException and GDALException ------------------------------------------------+------------------------ Reporter: claudep | Owner: nobody Type: Cleanup/optimization | Status: new Component: GIS | Version: master Severity: Normal | Keywords: Triage Stage: Unreviewed | Has patch: 0 Needs documentation: 0 | Needs tests: 0 Patch needs improvement: 0 | Easy pickings: 0 UI/UX: 0 | ------------------------------------------------+------------------------ OGRException and GDALException are basically the same thing, as they both refer to exceptions related to the GDAL library. The OGR/GDAL names are an internal distinction depending on technical issues which are not much significant to the API user. I therefore suggest to keep only GDALException, while keeping OGRException as an alias for backwards compatibility.
