 The documentation for the [https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.1/ref
 /django-admin/#cmdoption-dumpdata-exclude dumpdata exclude option]
 currently reads:

Prevents specific applications or models (specified in the form of
app_label.ModelName) from being dumped. If you specify a model name, the
output will be restricted to that model, rather than the entire
application. You can also mix application names and model names.

This isn't correct. If you specify a model name, the **output** is not
restricted to that model. I think the intended meaning of this sentence is
that only that model will be excluded (rather than the entire application
 being excluded).
