#32576: Correct documentation for dumpdata --exclude -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: Tim | Owner: Tim McCurrach McCurrach | Type: | Status: assigned Cleanup/optimization | Component: | Version: 3.1 Documentation | Severity: Normal | Keywords: Triage Stage: | Has patch: 0 Unreviewed | Needs documentation: 0 | Needs tests: 0 Patch needs improvement: 0 | Easy pickings: 0 UI/UX: 0 | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- The documentation for the [https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.1/ref /django-admin/#cmdoption-dumpdata-exclude dumpdata exclude option] currently reads:
Prevents specific applications or models (specified in the form of app_label.ModelName) from being dumped. If you specify a model name, the output will be restricted to that model, rather than the entire application. You can also mix application names and model names. This isn't correct. If you specify a model name, the **output** is not restricted to that model. I think the intended meaning of this sentence is that only that model will be excluded (rather than the entire application being excluded). -- Ticket URL: <https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/32576> Django <https://code.djangoproject.com/> The Web framework for perfectionists with deadlines. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django updates" group.
