 I'm pretty sure:
 {{{
 INSTALLED_APPS = (
     'django.contrib.auth',
     'django.contrib.contenttypes',
     'django.contrib.sessions',
     'django.contrib.sites',
     'polls'
 )
 }}}
 should really be
 {{{
 INSTALLED_APPS = (
     'django.contrib.auth',
     'django.contrib.contenttypes',
     'django.contrib.sessions',
     'django.contrib.sites',
     'mysite.polls'
 )}}}

Comment:

 As lrekucki said, the removal of "mysite" was intentional; that particular
 instance was removed in #14255, and the rest are set to be removed by
 #14426.

 The bottom line is that the "mysite.myapp" convention is not what we want
 to be encouraging people to do. It goes against the idea of reusable apps,
 and obfuscates the fact that Django apps are truly just Python packages
 and can be imported from anywhere on the PYTHONPATH.

 Thanks for the report though, zsoltbot.
