#16770: TemplateSyntaxError is raised improperly in some cases where database connection fails --------------------------------------+--------------------------------- Reporter: jMyles | Owner: jMyles Type: Bug | Status: new Milestone: | Component: Template system Version: 1.3 | Severity: Normal Resolution: | Keywords: Triage Stage: Unreviewed | Has patch: 0 Needs documentation: 0 | Needs tests: 0 Patch needs improvement: 0 | Easy pickings: 0 UI/UX: 0 | --------------------------------------+---------------------------------
Comment (by jMyles): On advice from Carl, I have decided to unwrap the exceptions altogether. Instead, we're going to annotate the exception, passing the node (and thus the line of the template) that was rendering when the error occurred. This way, nobody will be mystified about what part of the template is hitting the database and causing OperationalError or DatabaseError. -- Ticket URL: <https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/16770#comment:2> Django <https://code.djangoproject.com/> The Web framework for perfectionists with deadlines. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django updates" group.
