OK, it seems, that django 1.2 simply doesn't work on my machine. I
have created an empty project and run ./manage shell and got the same
error. I have kept generated settings and only changed the following:

DATABASES = {
    'default': {
        'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.sqlite3', # Add
'postgresql_psycopg2', 'postgresql', 'mysql', 'sqlite3' or 'oracle'.
        'NAME': 'test.db3', # Or path to database
file if using sqlite3.
        'USER': '',                      # Not used with sqlite3.
        'PASSWORD': '',                  # Not used with sqlite3.
        'HOST': '', # Set to empty string for
localhost. Not used with sqlite3.
        'PORT': '', # Set to empty string for
default. Not used with sqlite3.
    }
}

What might be the reason? I don't have sqlite3 libraries?
