The Meta class would need to subclass FlatPage.Meta, otherwise it won't
have the necessary FlatPage special sauces. I don't guarantee even that
will work, but try

class NewFlatpage(FlatPage):

    class Meta(FlatPage.Meta):
        verbose_name_plural = "New_name"
