I can take credit for turning Chris Anderson (the Editor of Wired) on to Django. We were discussing other things a while ago (diydrones.com) and I mentioned that we were doing a project with GeoDjango. He said "what is django", and I proceeded to explain and his response was basically "Ah! RoR, but with a real language and a real set of libraries to back it up, and a geo toolkit as well ... Cool!" ... So considering the Wired site is done in RoR, its kinda interesting that it is not what is listed as Wired in this space.
