Hi everyone! Next week is OSCON in Portland, Oregon. For anybody attending OSCON, or anybody who's going to be in the greater Portland metropolitan area, here's a lineup of Django-related events:
1. Tuesday, July 22, 7pm, Jax Bar: Django Drinkup! Come meet other Djangonauts from OSCON and the area at the Jax Bar rooftop patio. It's easy and free to get to from the Convention Center on the MAX - directions are [1]. We'll be getting started in between 6 and 7. 2. Wednesday, July 23, Cubespace: FOSCON! FOSCON is a Ruby gathering (I know, I know) but they want to have a competition between the big three frameworks - Rails, Django, and CakePHP. One team per framework, teams are two people each, official rules at http://pdxfoscon.org/competition - if you think you've got what it takes to represent Django in this event, drop me a line. 3. Thursday, July 24, Bossanova: Beerforge! This event isn't actually Django related, but it's going to be one of the main OSCON parties. On Upcoming: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/782117/ (note: I work for Vidoop, one of the companies sponsoring this party). And for anybody that finds themselves loving Portland, don't forget that there's going to be a Django sprint here on August 22 - http://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/SprintPortlandAugust2008 . We would love to see you there. If anybody has any questions, please feel free to email me. Hope to see you there! -Michael Richardson [1] Jax Bar ( http://jaxbar.com/ ) is located at 826 SW 2nd Avenue . To get there from the Convention Center, take any MAX train downtown and get off at Morrison/SW 3rd Avenue, then walk a tiny bit south and you're there. Jax is on the east (river) side of the street on 2nd in between Yamhill and Taylor. Yamhill is one block south of Morrison.
