I've had to search in my own mail archives instead of the group for stuff I know is there. So far as I know the list owners have no control over the indexing/search function so I don't know how to fix it other than maybe ask about it here: http://groups.google.com/group/Is-Something-Broken/topics (It hasn't bothered me enough to pursue it.)
