Hi v. I guess you want to give a format in the template, date tag,
formats a date according to the given format as you can see here
(http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/templates/builtins/#date).

ex:

{{ date_value|date:"d-M-Y" }}
return:
 '31-Aug-2009'.
