I don't think anyone can be truly sure: if it is working now, and the OpenID specs are stable (I assume they are), then it should work for the forseeable future. Django may (but is unlikely to) change making it not work, but if it is written "properly", then such a change is likely to break innumerable third-party apps. At the very least, you will have access to the source code, and be able to make it work again. Which, frankly, you will need to do if you write your own OpenID library.
