Oh yeah.. this to me is what parties are all about.. here goes my review. I drove out there with Valerie Sparks.. thought the drive was great.. got word that Reese got into an accident so we stopped to make sure he was ok.. and he was.. so we headed to the party. Got there about 9:15.. and I was in awe of the venue. I thought it was a GREAT venue.. really fit Happy Kids' style.. you walked in and you knew you were going to have fun. Reese stepped up to the decks in the main room at 9:15.. and totally rocked the place. For the few people there that early.. seriously.. he tore it up. It was good to see everyone have a good time to what he was playing! On top of that.. his birthday was on Saturday.. so this was kinda his birthday set. He rocked! Neuropsyntist was playin in the 2nd room.. absolutely tearin shit up! Watch out for this guy.. doing things other people don't wanna do.. playing music that other people don't wanna play! Off the HOOK! DJ Pat came up in the 2nd room at 10.. and he tore the roof off. Pat is a good friend of mine and an even better DJ. I respect his talent immensely.. and he showed just what he was all about! Valerie Sparks stepped up in the 2nd room at 11.. ready to drop what the crowd was waiting for.. the Happy Hardcore! From the first record to the last.. she knew how to work 'em.. crowd was loving everything she played.. it was great. Time and time again.. HHC and Happy Kids parties are becoming synonymous.. and Valerie is a MAIN reason that's happening. She completely showed why she is one of the top HHC DJs in the bay! Anthony Mad came up at about midnight in room 2.. and dropped some really good stuff. Props to him for making the drive back from Nocturnal Wonderland.. I know he was runnin off almost no sleep.. and he still managed to come through and drop some amazing stuff. Had the crowd workin. I came up at about 1 in room 2.. and I must say.. I had an amazing time! It got to the point where I was too hot though towards the end.. so sorry I stepped out so quick... I was at the point of passing out if I stayed in there for a minute. I guess I use too much energy when I play. ;) Thanks everyone for the support!! Cloudskipper came on at 2.. and damn.. what more can I say really? The man just rocks. He comes through everytime in the clutch and delivers something everyone isn't used to hearing. Well brought set by the one known as da Cloudskippa! Had the crowd bum-rushin the stage for CD's too.. hah. By this time.. I was pretty worn out.. but Kid Cosmo from what I saw tore it up. Great first track.. he's gonna be up and coming here in the very near future! As for the party itself.. I thought it has a KILLA vibe! There were a lot of e-tards.. but that's expected now-a-days.. but the crowd brought a GREAT vibe with them. The place was PACKED.. which in turn made it very hot.. but I've been hotter.. and that's just a part of partying.. you expect it to be hot. The music was the best part of the night.. everywhere you go.. you heard people talking about the DJ's that played.. or were going to play.. and that's a very good thing.. a lot of parties I've played locally people haven't been there for the music.. and it's good to see! The drive was a bit far.. but seriously.. gimme a break. Where in the bay can you get that kind of venue and pay that cheap.. with that kind of talent.. and go until 7am? I can't believe people are complaining about the drive.. or didn't go because of the drive.. and to those people who decided not to go.. you missed out on one of the best events of the year!! Again.. I had a great time.. met a lot of cool people.. one of the best parties of the year.. had that "LEGEND" vibe without the cold ass ice arena. AWESOME party.. great job Happy Kids and I'm lookin forward to playin Lil Monsters!
