A couple of comments:
*Section titles*
Section 2, Forwarding failures covers both remailer cases of replacing the
bounce address and adding a footer. That is, the items which the SMTP standard
calls /aliases/ and /mailing lists/. I'd have expected Section 3 to be titled
something like Additional failures for mailing lists, rather than pretending
that mailing lists are not a case of forwarding.
*From rewrite*
/Irreversible/ is the wrong term here. It should be /non-addressable/. The
addressable case, Section 4.3 does not mention how the temporary forward has to
be set up in order to overcome those same issues that it is supposed to work
around. That is, what happens when al...@aol.com writes a message to
st...@aol.com.dmarc.fail? To: must not be rewritten, but then this will look
like a replay? What if the message is only SPF-authenticated?
I'd drop the paragraph on SRS...
Best
Ale
