I'm afraid that FReD is not really at the formal release stage, yet.
We had expected to release an early version in the last month or two --
but then decided to wait until some additional things were fixed.
So, FReD is currently in an internally inconsistent state.
When it is ready, we'll also put up an announcement on the DMTCP
web page about FReD.

(For others who may read this, FReD stands for "Fast Reversible
Debugger".  It is based on the ability of DMTCP to checkpoint and
restart an entire gdb session.  We are hoping for a formal release
in the next month or so.)

Thanks very much for your interest.  Sorry that the FReD project
hadn't made clear its status.
