Hi Ruslan,
DMTCP does not support UDP sockets. It's definitely doable, but it might
be a one-week project. So far, we haven't had requests for that.
TCP sockets, including listener sockets are fully supported.
If you want to dump just one end of a connection, then you probably
need to write a small DMTCP plugin that tells DMTCP how you want to
re-connect on restart. If you don't need to reconnect on restart, then
DMTCP will use its internal heuristics to try to do the right thing.
No promises in this case, but it often works.
Although you didn't mention it, we are now planning to support
InfiniBand also. We internally have support for the libibverbs library of
InfiniBand, and will soon be supporting librdma. Write to us if
you need this.
