Yeah, I appreciate that but I know that the SBlive, for example, operates at 48khz internally.. IF you try to record a wav at 44.1 it will record it at 48 and then dither it down to 44.1.. I doubt this is your problem but it helps to know how these factors can effect the sound... Also, You have to make sure you have selected the correct recording input.. The SBlive has  a 'what U hear' option, but if you record from it you will come up against the dodgy 44.1 conversion thing again... Always use 'WAV'...

Maybe you could try doing it on another machine with a different card ? (Unless someone who uses Fruity can help you)...

Good luck

Which card are you using ?

Unfortunately, at this current juncture in time, I'm using my onboard CMedia CMI8738 (Soyo K7V Dragon+).  Yeah I know it sucks but the output quality is comparable to that of the SB Live.  I realize these are not professional level sound cards, but as I said before, the track sounds great when playing in fruity...so I'm just trying to capture that perfect crisp sound in a .wav file.  For this, the quality of my sound card shouldn't matter.  The sound is being degraded by the software...so I guess what I'm asking is what is the best possible way (software-wise) to record something out of fruity.
