Very Very Bad Analogy. Honestly here are the views i'm going to put into it and i hope this puts a little rest into this conversation. If i am a producer and I have had everything on mastered and i want to place it on a CD first before cutting it is my right to place it to whatever medium i feel like it. The advantage of cutting into a vinyl is one of ease for distribution to other dj's if you'd like or the point that the party you may go to may have CD Mixers or May not, and the ones they do have might not play the burned cd's. The advantage of having it put on vinyl is also of more flexibility in your mix (the massive rewinds etc.). I will cut my music to vinyl when its nice and ready to be not before. Its expensive and you want to make sure it sounds quality on every type of system from small boombox, to the car as well as thousand dollar professional ones.

peace.

Its their job to have dubplates. If you were a freelance computer artist, I'm sure you wouldn't bitch about the price of keeping your computer updated, and buying new software.

(in the states dubs only cost between 40-50$ for a 12")

CD: less than 1
