At the end of the day, CD's are 16-bit, 44.1 KHz, so there's no reason not to get good enough results. There are maybe ways of getting better results, but if it sounds good enough, and it's at what is still the industry standard for consumers, it should be fine.

I have an older version of Cubase (3.65) that only supports 16-bit recording (I think). In any case my Layla soundcard is a little older, too and I know for sure it only supports up to 20 bit. So my question is this: Is 16-bit sufficient for final mixdowns? I've been using it to record all my tracks. Honestly, they sound better than the recording I've done using my DAT ( a pretty good Tascam). What's the verdict? ____________________________________________________________ _____ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ _________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by UUNET delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Control Centre.
